Weak domestic alumina fundamentals coupled with anticipated impacts from imported alumina prices make a short-term price recovery unlikely. The contract rollover will further weaken alumina prices in northern China. Short-term impacts from imported alumina and expectations of declining costs may have some effect on the alumina market in the near term, driving domestic alumina prices to continue falling.
