As the year draws to a close, the need to secure long-term alumina contracts and negotiate long-term contracts for 2026 are both limiting alumina plant production cuts. To facilitate these negotiations, plants may continue stable production in the short term. With alumina prices falling, alumina capacity reduction is expected in the medium term, and only large-scale production cuts can provide support for prices.
